A Quick Recipe to Prepare Healthy Breakfast Meal at Home

Everyonemust make a healthy start to their day if they want to spend the rest of the day with energy. Your day depends on how you start it. Nutritionists say that you must always eat a healthy breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is compulsory for everyone. Be it anyone who’s gaining or losing weight. Breakfast is always a must. Skipping breakfast will not do you any good. Many people think skipping breakfast can help them lose weight. But the reality is the opposite.

The best option for anyone is to make breakfast at home. Buying meals or processed drinks from cafes is not a good idea. They contain many flavors that can damage our bodies. You can prep meals and store them in stainless steel under counter freezer for a weak if you are a busy person. Below we have mentioned a recipe to make a healthy breakfast meal. Now get your apron and pans to start the work.

Recipe Name: Breakfast Shakshuka

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Times: 25 minutes
  • Total Times: 35 minutes
  • Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • One red bell pepper (diced)
  • One cup of onion (chopped)
  • Sea salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (freshly ground)
  • Three garlic cloves (minced)
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Half teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 28 ounces of crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • Two tablespoons of harissa paste
  • Four eggs
  • Half teaspoon of ground cumin
  • One cup of fresh spinach (chopped)
  • One avocado (diced)
  • 1/3 cup of feta cheese (crumbled)
  • ¼ cup of fresh parsley leaves
  • Microgreens (for garnishing)

Directions:

  • Take a stainless-steel skillet and place it on the stove over medium heat.
  • Add some oil to the skillet.
  • Add red pepper, onion, salt, and black pepper to the skillet when the oil heats up.
  • Cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until the onions become translucent and soft.
  • Add chopped garlic, cayenne, paprika, and cumin to the skillet.
  • Mix the ingredients and let it cook for another five minutes.
  • Now add the canned tomatoes to the skillet with some harissa paste.
  • Let it simmer for another fifteen minutes on low heat.
  • Don’t forget to stir every five minutes.
  • Wait until the sauce thickens.
  • Now add the fresh spinach to the skillet and mix with a spatula.
  • Make four wells in the sauce in which you will crack the eggs.
  • Now crack the eggs in the sauce, and cover the skillet.
  • Your breakfast will be ready in almost seven minutes.
  • Top with feta cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, microgreens, and avocado.
  • Serve with toasted bread.

Recipe notes:

  • Ifyou do not have canned tomatoes, you can use crushed roasted tomatoes for Shakshuka.
  • Make sure you choose premium quality tomatoes.
  • Turn off the heat when eggs are ready. Your Shakshuka will not taste good if eggs are overcooked or undercooked.
  • Know that you can also add tomato paste to your Shakshuka.
  • If you want to keep it traditional, serve your Shakshuka with pita bread.
  • You can use as many eggs as you want in this recipe.
