What Ingredients You Should Have for Apple Oatmeal Cookies

When it comes to autumn snacks, one of my favorites would have to be apple oatmeal cookies. Everyone loves autumn cookies and especially when you add apple and other spices to them. There is something so comforting about biting these cookies that they are almost impossible to resist. Apple oatmeal cookies are the best thing to eat on chilly and rainy weekends. In the autumn season, you can find apple oatmeal cookies at any store in their 1 door commercial freezer to keep them preserved. But if you want to make them at home, it is effortless and uncomplicated. Homemade cookies taste better than store-bought, and they are healthy and hygienic too. Without any further ado, let’s figure out the ingredients you will need to make apple oatmeal cookies.

1. Oatmeal:

The main ingredient you will need to make oatmeal cookies is nothing else but oatmeal. When it comes to oatmeal, you usually have two types of oatmeal. They are quick oatmeal or fashioned rolled oats. I always prefer to use gluten-free fashioned rolled oats since they give the best texture. But you can also use quick oats if you are not gluten-sensitive. Oatmeal is very healthy and nutritious for us since they contain many minerals and vitamins. ½ cup of oatmeal is enough for one serving.

2. Apples:

The next ingredient for this recipe is the apple. You can use sweet or tart apples, depending upon the recipe. If you are using any sweetener in your recipe, then you should not use sweet apples. Granny Smith apples are best for this recipe. But if you are not using any sweetener, then you should go for Gala or Fuji apples. You can use any apples according to your taste. Make sure that you are chopping the apples very small so that they bake through and you taste the apple flavor in every bite.

3. Cinnamon:

You will need some spices to give your cookies a tasty flavor. Apple and cinnamon always work great together. Cinnamon will enhance the flavor of your cookies. It will add spice as well as sweetness to your cookies. 1-teaspoon of cinnamon is enough for a batch of 24 cookies. Cinnamon is rich in antioxidants, and it has anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Vanilla Extract:

The next ingredient to make apple oatmeal cookies is vanilla extract. Use pure vanilla extract since it has a strong and deep flavor. 1-teaspoon of pure vanilla extract is enough for 24 cookies. Maple syrup can be a working alternative to vanilla extract.

Some other ingredients that you will need to make apple oatmeal cookies are below.

  • Baking Soda: It will help the cookies in rising and baking.
  • Ground Nutmeg: You will need ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg to give your cookies a tasteful flavor.
  • Unsalted Butter: Unsalted butter gives your cookies a nice texture and flavor. ½ cup of butter is enough for a batch.
  • Lemon: Most people use lemon juice to brighten up the flavor of apple.
  • Egg: You will need a 1-large egg to make nice dough for your cookies.
