Summer is just around the corner and a favorite place to visit during this weather for most of us is obviously a beach. What can be better than being cooled down in the water, making some weird sculptures out of the sand and taking a sunbath on the seashore?
However, of course, you should not forget about the potential health risks of visiting a beach, like gastric illnesses due to the presence of bacteria in seawater. In addition, you cannot ignore the sunburns you can have due to scorching sunrays. Therefore, it is necessary to follow some hygiene 
practices for a good beach experience.

Frequently Wash Your Hands:                    

The simplest and the most effective way of keeping the dirt and germs from getting inside your body is to wash your hands frequently while visiting the beach. Visit your restroom often and wash your hands with soap and water every time, especially before and after your meals.

Carry an Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer:

If you are going on a trip, where you do not have a restroom nearby then make sure to carry a hand sanitizer with you. Also, try to use stuff, which minimizes the contact of your hands with your food, like spoon, napkin and food wraps. This will decrease the chances of food contamination.

Do Not Forget To Wear Sunscreen:

Sunburn is the most common problem faced by most of the people after spending a day at the beach. If you are genuinely concerned about your personal hygiene then you cannot think of visiting a beach without having a sunblock in your bag. However, sunburn is a simple effect on your skin that will go away within a few days. Nevertheless, it has a more serious long-term complication like cancer. If a person experiences more than five sunburns throughout his life then his risk of developing skin cancer roughly doubles.

Keep Yourself Hydrated:

You might be surrounded by water at a beach, but your body dehydrates at a greater pace than normal due to the hot atmosphere caused by sun rays. Dehydration not only makes you thirsty, but it also makes you feel lethargic and disoriented. Additionally, it can lower your immune system, making your body vulnerable to various diseases.
Make sure you carry plenty of water with you and keep a towel to soak your sweat. You can have cheap beach towels in the UK at any store. This is the most needed item when you are up for a sunbath at the beach.

Always Wear Slippers At A Beach:

Yes, it is fun to walk barefoot on a beach but this can be hazardous if you have an open cut or wound on your foot. This can allow the germs to cause infection. So to prevent that you can wear covered shoes or socks. Shoes will also help you to stay safe from potential risks on a beach, like an injury due to a broken piece of glass or cuts due to a sharp object like shells.

Your Food And Drinks Should Be Covered:

Never leave your food cans open under the sun. Always cover them, as it will also prevent the dirt and germs from contaminating your food. Also, bring a trash bag with you in which you can collect all the garbage and will dispose of it afterward in a proper way. Use your containers properly and do not throw away your leftover food there on the beach.
